ELITE Swim Lessons
A child understanding how to swim is VERY important to us at the Y. That is why we have designed our swim lesson programs to teach levels from beginner to advanced. This goal is so important that we have made all of our swim lessons ELITE. This means that every class taught, will have no more than 4 kids per instructor. Ages 3-14.

Water Babies is an introduction to the aquatic environment. The skills learned in this class will help kids become more comfortable in the water. Must be between the ages of 6 months - 3 years of age.

The Y/City Pool is the WETTEST and FUNNEST place in town to celebrate your birthday!!! The Birthday package includes: 2 reserved picnic tables for 2 hours and admission for up to 10 non-YMCA member children. If there are more than 10 kids in a party it is $3 per child after the first 10 non-YMCA members. YMCA members are FREE and not inluded in the count.
Birthday Party Reservation Times:

Hurricane Swim League
Kids will have fun learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming and have the opportunity to compete against the clock in Saturday time trial swim meets. Kids must be able to swim 25 yards of continious front crawl and be 6-17 years of age.
Session: March 28 - May 20
Practices are on Tues & Thurs from 6:30-7:30pm
Saturday Time Trial Meets: Every other Saturday starting on the 2nd Saturday of the session.
Y Members: $45

Private Swim Lessons
The Private Swim Lesson package includes 4 half hour swim lessons. These lessons can be scheduled anytime the Y/City Pool is open and instructors are available. Registrants can have anywhere from 1-4 participants in each class at no additional charge. Instructors and instructor qualities may be requested.

100 Mile Swim Club
The 100 Mile Swim Club is a club that challenges one's self to swim 100 miles in a year. 1 mile is 1,650 yards in the pool. Both Y/ lap swim pools are 25 yards, which equals 33 laps or 66 lengths. This comes out to 3,173.1 yards per week or 452.05 yards per day. That does not sound so bad. Both pools will have a tracking board so you can see your progress. When you reach 100 miles you will recieve a COOL 100 Mile Swim Club T- Shirt.
Must be a Y/City Pool or YMCA Member to participate. Shirts will be given out during the second half of the year

Aqua Fitness Schedule
Aqua Blast is a rapid fat burning class that uses innovative routines featuring flowing movements, jumps, kicks assisted by buoys, noodles and gloves to tone and strengthen your body.

Aqua Fit A varied intensity class that combines cardio with strength building. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.
Swim Fit is designed for adult swimmers, 18 years and older, wanting to improve their stroke technique and endurance in a class environment. Swim Fit is sure to help you stay in shape or train for aquatic events such as triathlons. This program is a workout program and is not swim lessons.
Aqua Cross is an intense 45 minute water based fitness program. The unique aspect of this class is that it is a rigorous cross-training of swimming for an efficient and effective way to raise your heart rate. Exercises include pool running, sit ups, push-ups, treading water, jumps, resistance work, dumbbells, medicine ball toss and more! Each class gets progressively more challenging.
Deep Blue is a mixture of athletic, power, flexibility, and strengthening movements for a total body workout. ZERO impact and TONS of results!
Aqua Tone has participants performing traditional water aerobic routines mixed with aqua kickboxing moves. The exercises learned in this class will tone and strengthen the entire body as well as increase one’s heart rate.
Instructor’s Choice gives a taste of all the different water fitness classes that are taught and some things that are not taught in any other class.
